As of this Saturday, the prehistoric Lazaret Cave will once again be open to visitors under strict health conditions.
The days and opening hours remain unchanged: Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Lazaret Cave was inhabited by prehistoric humans from 190,000 to 120,000 years ago. Located not far from the Port of Nice, it is owned by the Department and has been classified as a historical monument since 1963. It is indeed a pivotal site for understanding the cultural, biological, and behavioral heritage of humans.
