OGC Nice convincingly won (4-1) this Saturday, December 7th, against Metz at the Allianz Riviera.
At kick-off, Patrick Vieira decided to deploy a 4-4-2. Benitez was in goal. The central defense was composed of Dante and Malang Sarr. The flanks were occupied by Patrick Burner on the right and Stanley N’Soki on the left. In midfield, Cyprien and Lees-Melou started for the third time in three games. Youcef Atal played as a right midfielder and Alexis Claude-Maurice as a left midfielder. Finally, Adam Ounas and Kasper Dolberg made up the Nice attack.
The Gym posed a threat right from the start of the match, and Cyprien, known for his very good shot, managed to recover the ball centrally from 25 meters out. He had plenty of time to place a curled shot that found the top corner. The Metz goalkeeper managed to graze the ball, but it still ended up in the back of the net (9th minute).
In the 29th minute, Youcef Atal injured his thigh and was replaced by Ignatius Ganago.
OGC Nice then obtained a penalty through Adam Ounas. Wylan Cyprien performed a panenka and secured a brace (39th minute). It’s the 6th goal of the season for the Nice midfielder.
In the second half, the Gym maintained pressure in the Metz camp and controlled the match perfectly. In the 59th minute, Lees-Melou delivered a precise cross from left to right. The Metz goalkeeper and his defender got in each other’s way and let the ball pass, reaching Ganago, who only had to push the ball into the empty net.
To crown his excellent match, Lees-Melou scored a magnificent goal with another curled shot that nestled into Delacroix’s lower corner (75th minute). This goal came just a minute after Ibrahima Niane reduced the Metz deficit (74th minute).
With this victory, OGC Nice distanced itself from the relegation zone (temporarily 12th) and improved its goal difference in the process.
