On this Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the CGT organized its traditional Labor Day demonstration in Nice.
A hundred demonstrators gathered in front of the Verdure Theater for a start at 10 a.m. Among them were members of the CFDT, CGT, PCF, and environmentalists, all present to pay tribute to the workers who contribute daily to our society.
In a context marked by violent conflicts, particularly in Palestine and Ukraine, the main reason for the demonstration was to show commitment to a just and lasting peace. A banner proclaimed: “We are all Palestinians.”
Likewise, the demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the threat of a new governmental austerity plan. They accuse the state of making significant savings on social policies, public services, ecological transition, and exploiting the unemployed.
