Amel Dehby (22 years old) and Albert Gasore (25 years old) received yesterday the “Wealth in Diversity” award from the hands of the ambassador of Qatar, His Excellency Mohamed Jaham Al-Kuwari.

French of foreign origin, each has succeeded in their field. The first is a world champion in kickboxing. The second runs Green Concess, a company specializing in hybrid vehicle rentals.

When it was time for speeches, the entrepreneur did not hide his emotion. “I thank my associate [Editor’s note: Jérémy Gravière] who deserves this award as much as I do. I also thank Mr. Mayor (Christian Estrosi) who provided us with a recommendation letter that will allow us to be well positioned,” announced Albert Gasore.

Today, Green Concess has been established in the challenging Ariane district for two years. But this Rwandan native and his associate aim for a location in the city center.

This year, the company is achieving a turnover of 160,000 euros. This allows them to think about the future, according to Albert Gasore: “In the long term, we hope to develop the company in the department, in Cannes, and then in the region, in Marseille.”

Amel Dehby, the queen of the ring

Less comfortable with the microphone, the other award winner, Amel Dehby, still sent a strong message: “I try to prove that kickboxing and K1 are not violent sports.”

On the ring since the age of 6, the young woman won her first French championship title at 9 years old. That was the beginning of a very beautiful story. At only 20 years old, the young woman is an amateur world champion. An honorary title, but no less than her other title of world champion… this time with the pros!

Her level of play, however, has no impact on her physical beauty. Her recipe? “I have a good fighting technique, which allows me to effectively dodge punches.” But that’s not enough. Even more than ball or ball disciplines, kickboxing or K1 requires determination and mental strength.

Today, Amel Dehby divides her time between AJ Saint-Raphaël and Kickboxing Côte d’Azur in Nice with her father. She has become an example for the youth of Les Moulins, to whom she teaches the values of sport.

In addition to their award, both winners received a check for 2000 euros each. This ceremony also had a barely hidden political orientation, aiming to perfect the very good relations between France and Qatar.
