On the occasion of his visit to Nice for the Mayor’s New Year wishes, Renaud Muselier, President of the Region, visited Riquier station, an important hub (2 million passengers per year) for travel to the east, particularly to Monaco, in the presence of Christian Estrosi and other elected officials, including Vice President Philippe Tabarot, who is in charge of transportation at the Regional Council.
Since 2016, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, in collaboration with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the City of Nice, and the SNCF, has been participating in the modernization of the Nice – Riquier Station.
Significant work was carried out during the year 2019 to modernize the North access to the station. Thus, the redevelopment of the forecourt at the corner of Boulevard Armée des Alpes and Rue du Docteur Ciais, the requalification of Rue du Docteur Ciais, and the improvement of accessibility for people with reduced mobility were completed.
The Region invested 3 million euros in this transformation.
