The RNCA will indeed host Saint-Etienne on Sunday. The club has received an exemption from the FFR to proceed with the match. The Pitchounettes, however, will stay warm. The weather conditions in Lyon do not allow the match against the league leaders to proceed.
The Nice rugby players are preparing to host Saint-Etienne, 5th in the group. The Azuréens seem to have bounced back, thanks to their victory over La Seyne-sur-Mer, 20 – 8. The postponed match from last week at Chateaurenard is only delayed. The Eagles want to show they deserve their place in Fédérale 1. This week, it will be important to stay focused throughout the match. In the first leg, the Niçois had a good first half and a good start to the second. They will need to maintain this rhythm throughout the 80 minutes, avoid cards (two yellows in the first leg), and keep calm, no matter what happens.
Snow in Lyon, sun in Nice
The Nice rugbywomen will not travel to LOU’s grounds this weekend. The FFR has indeed “decided to postpone all federal competition matches scheduled for this weekend (February 11 and 12, 2012) to a date that will be communicated later.” The Pitchounettes will therefore remain warm until February 26, when they will host Dijon, 4th in the group.
The Niçois, however, have received an exemption from the federation, as “more favorable local weather conditions may allow certain matches to take place under certain conditions.”
