Robert Injey (PCF): The Left Front banned from holding a meeting in Nice!

Latest News

We received this letter from Robert Injey (PCF), which we are publishing in the interest of pluralism. More to follow.

pcf-4.jpg After GAUDIN in Marseille, would Christian ESTROSI also have the temptation to prevent the Front de Gauche from holding a meeting in Nice?

The question arises the day after the refusal to make the CUM available, the very place where the presidential candidate came to campaign. The refusal was notified by Ms. Martine GASQUET-DAUGREILH, DGA of culture for the city of Nice, who was formerly (88-93) an RPR deputy…

Below is the letter sent this morning to Mr. Christian Estrosi. No response at this time.

Robert Injey

I have just learned via an email from Ms. Martine GASQUET-DAUGREILH that the city of Nice refuses to make the CUM available to me on the grounds that “The last event organized by Nice Matin and Le Point led to disruptions with a demonstration on the public road. Given these events, the City of Nice has decided to henceforth refuse any new public meeting of a political nature.”

Besides the fact that the pretext invoked by Ms. Martine GASQUET-DAUGREILH is utterly ridiculous, the decision of the City of Nice (on her behalf with or without your consent?) constitutes a serious challenge to political expression in the 5th largest city in France.

I dare hope that this is simply an unfortunate and personal initiative by Ms. Martine GASQUET-DAUGREILH, and I am therefore renewing my request to make the CUM available on April 19, 2012.

Awaiting your response and knowing I can count on your Republican spirit, please accept, Mr. Deputy Mayor, the assurance of my distinguished regards.
