Appointed by Bernard Tapie, the former head of information at TF1 will take the helm of the various titles within the Nice Matin Group. This announcement followed that of Olivier Mazerolle’s appointment as head of La Provence.
Thus, two media heavyweights and close friends of Bernard Tapie will be responsible for instilling new energy into the main press titles of the South. For Nice, it is the former philosophy teacher who entered the world of journalism in 1968 at RTL, where he became the Editor-in-Chief until 1982. After a brief stint at FR3 and the creation of a Parisian FM radio station, he joined the TF1 group in 1986, becoming, in turn, head of the economic service, editorial director, and then head of information.
Upon leaving the channel in 2008, Robert Namias joined the Publicis group as an advisor to the President and Vice-President, a position he left in 2010. He then partnered with the i>Tรฉlรฉ channel, becoming one of its editorialists, to create a new information radio station. Since 2011, he has been leading LโHรฉmicycle, a journal of pluralistic debate open to all political currents, featuring well-known contributors such as Michรจle Cotta, Brice Teinturier, Eric Fottorino, and Bruno Jeudy.
His arrival is expected to have an immediate impact, particularly in the digital sector, where the various press titles of the South, especially Nice Matin, are somewhat lagging. A considerable task lies ahead for this Parisian native who will have the challenging job of winning over the people of Nice, starting with his team members.
