He was expected in the coming days to take the lead of the editorial teams of the Nice Matin group, but the former head of information at TF1 does not seem to have agreed with Bernard Tapie and has ultimately declined the offer.
We will likely never know if Bernard Tapie’s choice would have been wise, but this decision, confirming Olivier Biscaye in his position, is ultimately good news for the local daily, which would certainly have lost, in the person of Olivier Biscaye, one of its best assets, at least the one who had brought the most significant and notable improvements in recent years.
No one thus knows what the future holds for Nice Matin or its editorial director, but one can hope that the former Minister for Urban Affairs and owner of OM has found a sign in recent days proving to him, if there was any need, that the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side.
