Latest News

The 2014 edition of the Roc dโ€™Azur, from October 8 to 12, will be an opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of an event that has become essential. It will also be an opportunity to look back on these three decades that have accompanied the development of mountain biking, with a constant aim to look to the future and contribute to the growth of the discipline.

rocazur.jpg Thrills are guaranteed whether for the little ones on the Kid Roc (courses from 2 to 8 km) or for the more seasoned on the Canyon Roc Marathon, an 83 km long journey, and for all participants in the numerous hikes (from 8 to 53 km), the spectacular Roc Ruelles in Frรฉjus and Roquebrune-sur-Argens, and of course the Roc dโ€™Azur on Sunday, the grand finale of the weekend with its 56 km outlined in the magnificent settings of the Massif des Maures.

Head south to rediscover the Massif des Maures, the traditional setting of the Roc dโ€™Azur. This tradition, or rather this history, will be highlighted through the “Musรฉe du Roc,” an exhibition organized with the association “Gรฉnรฉration Mountain Bike,” and the “Hall of Fame,” two initiatives that will emphasize the intimate link between the history of the Roc and the development of the discipline.

It’s not only about sporting events. With the world’s largest show where 20,000 participants and 150,000 visitors can discover all ranges of bicycles and equipment thanks to the Roc Test Camp, along with a multitude of events, the Roc dโ€™Azur offers the guarantee of several intense days. Every year, all mountain bike enthusiasts take advantage of this meeting to conclude their season in a unique setting, and treat themselves to the luxury of extending the summer one last time by the Mediterranean shores.

A week where the history of the Roc dโ€™Azur will be emphasized with, among other things, the Musรฉe du Roc and an exhibition retracing the history of the event, which grew from 7 competitors in 1984 to over 20,000 today, or even a participatory mural where everyone will be invited to contribute. For the more nostalgic, the Roc limbo, a limbo contest where the goal is to go as low as possible on a mountain bike to pass under a bar, will rekindle the memories of the older participants.
