Roller Hockey: Nice travels to Villeneuve-la-Garenne

Latest News

After a week’s break due to the European Cup, the Angels of Nice are back in action, heading to challenge the speedsters of Villeneuve-la-Garenne.

While the Nice hockey players have benefited from a week’s rest, their Parisian counterparts played this weekend and qualified for the ConfCup final. After their league defeat against Grenoble, Villeneuve set the record straight and gained a lot of confidence before hosting Nice.

This team seems to be equipped to make it to the final four of the French Elite Championship. On the contrary, the Azurian hockey players missed a golden opportunity against Amiens to relieve some pressure in the standings. The weekend’s opponents are just two points behind the Angels, and this team had success against the Nice team last season (2 wins).

The Angels’ coach, Thomas Fontana, will need to use this as motivation to seek a second victory this season and thus surpass Villeneuve in the standings. The Nice team will once again need to correct the indiscipline that has been very costly to them early in the season and capitalize on potentially superior physical freshness compared to the speedsters.

While the participation of the Angels’ captain, Cyril Duchassin, remains uncertain, the rest of the squad will be at the disposal of the Nice coach for this important trip to the Parisian region.
