By the end of December 2020, the global economy had recorded a loss of 10 trillion dollars. Despite this exceptional recession, the EU, as a leader of the Green Deal, is establishing a fund of 100 million euros for the period 2021-2027 to help the most disadvantaged countries implement a fair and inclusive energy transition by 2050 as part of the Green Deal for the Climate.
Inspired by the hackathon, a Rotary Green Startup Weekend is organized by Rotary International from April 16 to 18. Set in a digital format, this challenge aims to create a sustainable Green Startup in 54 hours.
This event invites project leaders to present their innovative socio-economic solutions in the environment and sustainable development through incisive pitches to a jury composed of about thirty European professional experts. The participants will then have to refine their concepts to achieve a business creation during the closing session. Thus, 80 candidates and 10 projects will be in the running.
What are the stakes and rewards for the winners?
They will receive training and support over several months in professional coaching, finance, strategy, legal affairs, marketing, and management from experienced business leaders to bring their business project to fruition.
โThe Rotaryโs objective: to drive the creation of a Green Cluster within French Techโ
โWe aim to offer all candidates optimal support and media visibility so they can quickly execute territorial business creation projects and enable various communities to replicate these event operations. Our ambition? To promote the creation of digital green clusters. And why not, eventually contribute to the French Tech labeling of some of them!!โ explains Jean-Christophe Erbstein, coordinator of this event.
