Élodie RAVERA, Gaël CHOCHEYRAS, and Adrien CONSTANTINI, members of the Nice Nautical Club, were in the spotlight at the junior world championships held last weekend in Bulgaria.
In Final A, the women’s double sculls of Élodie RAVERA and Éléonore DUBUIS led the first part of the race after a very good start.
Still in the lead halfway through, the two Frenchwomen couldn’t resist the attack of the Romanian boat, which brought the Lithuanian boat in its wake. Close to the two leading boats approaching the last 500m, the French duo paid for their efforts from the first kilometer in the final stretch and couldn’t resist the comeback of the German and Hungarian boats. They eventually finished 5th in this Final A.
In the B final of the coxless four, Guillaume GRANDONI, Lucas JEANDOT, Gaël CHOCHEYRAS, Adrien CONSTANTINI led a race full of suspense.
After the best start, the four Frenchmen tried to pull away from the other competitors. At first, it seemed a lost cause, but they were determined: towards the end of the race, the French team managed to take the lead. They finally seized first place, followed closely by the other five boats, all finishing less than a second apart from each other.
