The Ligurie FAI and the Piemonte FAI, Italian foundations for environmental protection, are organizing an event this Saturday, July 6, in Tende to promote a meeting of cross-border institutions. The goal is to discuss and exchange ideas regarding an action plan for the preservation and enhancement of the Val Roya railway line, which connects Cuneo, Nice, and Ventimiglia. The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 PM at the “Le Bego” Cinema in Tende, and to get there, you will need to take the Train of Wonders!
Following a trip on a reserved FAI train to rediscover this crucial railway link for the cross-border economy, the meeting entitled “The Val Roya Railway Line” will take place.
Cross-border institutions will provide their testimonies on the importance of this link. Now, they must address the issues of funding and amend the 1970 agreement. It is up to the States to now come to an agreement to find a real solution.
The meeting will conclude with the presentation of the project “A Postcard to Save the Val Roya Railway Line”: a petition through postcards sent directly to the Italian Ministry of Transport.
