In addition to many clubs from the Côte d’Azur Committee, which Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur wished to invite, as is tradition, to share these moments of pleasure together, major teams are announced, such as Narbonne, R.C Toulon, Montpellier, and for the first time, A.S Montferrand. The international touch will be provided by the Italians from Rugby Club of Piacenza making their debut in the competition.
The sponsors of this new edition of the “VICAT Baie des Anges” tournament will be Alexandre Audebert, international flanker of A.S.Montferrand, as well as Julien Caminati, the iconic fullback of the senior team of Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur and freshly selected in the French Amateur team.
Around fifty volunteer leaders coordinated by Serge Patuano and Jeff Depresle have been working for several months to ensure that this rugby day, which requires high-quality organization, is a success for everyone.
The holder of the “VICAT-Baie des Anges 2009” trophy is R.C. Toulon, while the Marcel DANDREIS -13 years Challenge is held by Perpignan. The favorites for this new edition are Montpellier, P.U.C., A.S.M., R.C.T, and of course, the young players from Nice who wish to shine in ‘their’ Tournament.
For the first time, a social association will be represented this Sunday: the “Les Bouchons d’Amour” association, chaired by comedian Jean-Marie Bigard, aims to help people with reduced mobility acquire wheelchairs.
The final word belongs to the President of the RCNA rugby school, Serge Patuano: “We welcome everyone and hope that many will participate in this beautiful rugby celebration, which is the pride of our rugby school and our club.”
