With Monteux’s reserve team having withdrawn, only the first team traveled to Vaucluse this Sunday. The red and black team quickly took the lead over their opponents, scoring a whopping 117 points by the end!
It was expected that Stade Niçois would secure a victory on the home turf of the bottom team, but no one would have predicted such a score! Facing a struggling yet valiant team, the red and black scored 17 tries during the match.
Thanks to this win, the team from Nice moves up to 3rd place in the pool, just 2 points behind Vienne, who sits in 2nd place and will be the last opponent of the pool phase on April 19 at Arboras.
But before this clash, which could have the sweet scent of the finals, the team from Nice will head to Châteaurenard, who are 6th with 43 points and only four points away from a playoff qualifying position, while Vienne will host Beaurepaire, 7th with 35 points and out of the race for qualification. Needless to say, points will be closely contested on both sides.
An eventful penultimate day could set the course for Stade Niçois for the rest of the competition.
