Three weeks after their last match in Nationale, the players of Stade Niçois are returning to the field with a trip to Suresnes this Sunday.
The last match for Stade Niçois dates back to March 28. It was the defeat against Dax (24-22), the second of the season for the Niçois. After the cancellation of the match against Cognac due to the emergence of a Covid-19 case in the opposing team, David Bolgashvili’s Azuréens are eager to move forward.
For this trip to the 11th rank, David Bolgashvili and Martin Jágr are without several players due to injury: Julien Hamiaux, Julien Fritz, and Matthieu Bonnet-Gonnet.
Regain the Leader Position in Nationale
Stade Niçois travels to the 11th place in the championship this Sunday for their return to competition. This Suresnes team has already hosted seven times in their stadium for four victories, including against teams at the top of the standings: Albi (18-16), Narbonne (27-20), Dijon (29-22), and Aubenas (41-7).
On the other hand, the club from the Paris suburbs has faced three defeats in the last four home games: against Cognac (29-34), Blagnac (14-18), and Chambéry (21-27), all very close matches. RC Suresnes has based its success on its highly prolific attack with 33 tries scored (36 for Nice) and notably one of the best scorers in Nationale, Matthew Ford.
The objective for Stade Niçois is to return to the path of victory during this trip to reclaim the leader position occupied by Bourg-en-Bresse (traveling to Dax this weekend). To do this, they need to deliver a strong collective performance, a trademark of the Niçois team since the beginning of the season.
The match will be broadcast on Facebook and the RC Suresnes YouTube channel starting at 13:55.
