Due to the difficulties the Club is facing, it has been decided to cancel the Baie des Anges Tournament scheduled for April 1, 2012. No comment!!!
Even though the first team, after the home victory against direct rivals Nîmes (39-24), has secured its sporting status in F1, even if the women’s team finished 2nd in their group and will play in the finals, even if the club’s management is fighting for its survival between the DNACG (Relegation to F3) and the Court (bankruptcy), unexpected news has confirmed that beyond the well-known problems, there might be much more.
The Baie des Anges Tournament was the flagship of the Nice rugby school, and its cancellation confirms the existing unease. And since it is unlikely that it is merely a budget issue (typically this tournament was even slightly profitable), one has the right to wonder why it was canceled?
It seems easier to gain power than to exercise it!
