Following their victory against Chambéry, the Niçois wanted to continue their winning streak away, but they faced a fiercely determined Massy team. The start of the match favored the home team. The Niçois struggled to implement their game plan and were dominated by Massy. After 13 minutes of play, the Niçois were already trailing due to a try by Massy’s hooker. The penalty by Mathis Viard wasn’t enough, and Massy imposed their dominance. After the first forty minutes, the home team led comfortably (13-3).
The efforts were not enough
The second half began in favor of the Niçois, who scored their first try of the match. It was Pierre Strippoli who went over the line to give the visitors hope. However, Nice was penalized for a lack of discipline, allowing Massy to break away. After a penalty, the Niçois committed another foul and conceded a penalty try. The game’s fate was already sealed.
