In the rescheduled match, Stade Niçois went on to win 19 to 13 at Seyne-sur-Mer. This victory allows David Bolgashvili’s players to move up to second place, two points behind Dijon, the leader of Pool 4.

After dominating their Fédérale 2 pool last season (with no defeats), the team entered Fédérale 1 with the objective of stabilizing before aiming higher. Today, at mid-season, the Nice club is trailing Dijon, two points behind the leader. Even better, the red and blacks have an 11-point lead over Hyères Carquerraine, who is 4th in the standings.
In this rescheduled match just before the end-of-year holiday break, the Nice team took their time. The home team struck first with a try in the 20th minute (10-6). The visitors did not panic and imposed their strength. Just before halftime, they even earned a penalty try which allowed them to lead at the break (10-13).
The second half was tighter mainly due to poor playing conditions, and a kicker’s duel ensued. 2 penalties for Nice and one for the Seyne team. In full control (like a champion), Stade sealed the victory 19-10.
Now it’s time for the end-of-year celebrations and 3 consecutive home games, starting with Macon on January 6th.
