The juniors dominated their game on Sunday afternoon in Brignoles, relying on their strong point since the beginning of the season, the conquest.
The Nice team approached the match as favorites but were wary of an opponent known to be tough and well-organized. The first half was intense and close, but with a slight wind at their backs, the red and black team occupied the opposing half but faced a very aggressive defense. The juniors then leaned on their strength since the start of the season, the conquest, to advance the team, particularly thanks to some driving mauls. The situation opened up around the 20th minute when, after a series of phases, Cédric Bertrand found the gap. 5-0! Cédric then kicked a penalty just before the break to bring the score to 8-0.
A mini-break had been made, but the bravery in the combat phases and the line-out organization of the Chateaurenard team allowed them to stay in the match. The Azureans had a big scare in the middle of the second half when, after a lost ball, the opposing winger broke through for 60 meters before being tackled 10 meters from the Nice try line.
