Once again, the spring mechanism worked well after the humiliation suffered against the Tongans. The French reacted by rediscovering all their qualities of fighting spirit and solidarity and logically won against England (19-12).
After a week of shame and frustration, the French players found their warrior spirit. From the very first moments of this match, it was felt that the time for revolt had come, as if by magic we found a united, aggressive, courageous team capable of unsettling their opponent with their offensive play. They finally embraced their collective nature, without which nothing is possible in this sport.
Facing particularly clumsy and unimaginative English players, the French remained strong on their fundamentals (set pieces, defense, central play) but were especially present mentally, sacrificing themselves knowing that forgiveness only came with a victory.
The players took responsibility and redeemed themselves in the best possible way, thus earning the right to play a World Cup semi-final against Wales.
We wish for just one thing: that this spirit of revolt continues to hover over the Blues.
