SOSNO ALL BLUE at the GALERIE FERRERO, 2 rue du Congrรจs

Exhibition from July 7 to August 31, 2011
Opening on Thursday, July 7, at 6:30 PM

The last dinosaur of the ร‰cole de Nice, Sacha Sosno has been pursuing work based on obliteration for over 40 years. His first solo exhibition took place in 1972 at the Galerie Ferrero, which was then located at Place Ile-de-Beautรฉ on the port of Nice. At the time, he was exhibiting obliterated photographs from his reports in Biafra. Since then, all sorts of works have been revisited through obliteration: classical sculptures from Antiquity, paintings from the Renaissance. His most famous piece, the โ€œTรชte Carrรฉe,โ€ was made monumentally to house the Municipal Library of Nice.
The summer exhibition at Galerie Ferrero, “Sosno All Blue,” is a kind of retrospective of his work, but limited to the theme of Blue.
Patinated bronzes, painted steels, tinted resins, colored glass pastes, veined marbles, all shades and variations of blue will be represented.
A nod to his friend Yves Klein and his IKB monochromes, International Klein Blue.
