Saint-Laurent-du-Var celebrates crime fiction

Latest News

After the success of the first edition of the Crime Fiction Festival, the city has decided to repeat the event this year. About thirty authors will be present on April 27 and 28 in the Louis Deboulle hall.

The Crime Fiction Festival, entirely free, becomes richer in activities and brings together authors from all over Europe. Olivier Norek is the guest of honor for this 2019 edition and will talk about his new novel “Surface.” This former Police Captain of the Investigation and Research Section of the 93 judicial police (for 18 years) was also involved in humanitarian work during the war in the former Yugoslavia. He is the author of the “Captain Coste” trilogy and the social novel “Entre deux mondes,” winner of several literary awards.

In addition to conferences and debates with various authors, a jazz trio will perform iconic tunes from crime films. A full-scale investigation is planned, with a murder to solve and clues spread throughout the city. Two exhibitions will also be available for viewing, one examining the representation of crime in art, and the other focusing on the Masque publications.
