While the system has been in place since 1979, the municipality of Saint-Laurent-du-Var invites the youth into municipal life. A project that will allow the little ones to play in the big leagues.
For the first time since 1979, the Alpes-Maritimes department is organizing the very first Municipal Council entirely composed of children. From CM1 to 6th grade, the city of Saint-Laurent-du-Var offers the young ones the chance to embark on an entirely new adventure outside of school activities.
That is why, this morning, the town’s mayor Joseph Segura introduced this new project to the public. According to him, elections are scheduled for October 21 and 22 to choose among 36 municipal councilors from different classes who will have a two-year term.
A meeting will be held twice in three trimesters to discuss the various measures, ideas, or projects, which will then be presented to the city’s mayor.
