Since 2008, Nice Cรดte dโAzur has been pursuing a robust investment policy in the fields of water, sanitation, waste collection, roads, and transportation.
In this context, โฌ1,554,000 including taxes has been invested by the Urban Community in the rehabilitation of the historic center of Saint-Martin-du-Var, with the development of the alleys of the Old Village, to create a beautified village center pleasant to live in.
These works, which lasted 12 months, allowed for the renewal of public lighting, sanitation, waste collection, stormwater, and drinking water networks, as well as the burial of EDF and France Telecom networks. A stone paving-type covering was placed on all the streets. Cobbled pathways, a fountain, and a waterway were created. The alleys were also enhanced by the installation of street lamps, benches, ramps, new railings, and basins filled with shrubs.
This transformation of Saint-Martin-du-Var is part of various ongoing developments aimed at improving the daily lives of residents. Since 2008, Nice Cรดte dโAzur has devoted โฌ6.7 million to several major operations such as doubling the collector on the left bank of the Var, installing underground containers, and setting up the Mobil Azur transport service for people with disabilities.
Furthermore, 23 social housing units were built in the municipality in 2010 to combat substandard housing and promote social diversity. Two housing programs, the โAcquaverdeโ and โLes Moulinsโ projects, are also underway and include 23 social housing units each.
