Synopsis: At dawn on April 30, 1945, five days after the Liberation, two bloodied corpses are found on the outskirts of Milan. A freshly painted sign identifies them: Osvaldo Valenti and Luisa Ferida, executed a few hours earlier by the partisans. But who were Osvaldo Valenti and Luisa Ferida?

Adored by the general public, the couple, as famous off-screen as they were on, belonged to the leading actors of the “white telephone” films that the fascist regime had sought to promote. Perfect in the roles of the charming rogue and the lost, soulless woman, they scandalized the Italian petty bourgeoisie by embodying these anarchic and dissolute characters.
