On Thursday, November 28th, the Les Franciscains hall in Nice will host Sarah McCoy. The American artist, with her unique journey, offers a musical moment blending blues, jazz, and experimentation.
Born in 1985 into an Irish Catholic family, Sarah McCoy grew up in South Carolina. Trained in classical piano during her adolescence, she left this constraining world at 16 to explore the American roads. For five years, she traveled across the country, guitar in hand, gradually discovering her voice.
From South Carolina to the French Stage
She reconnected with the piano in New Orleans. At the Spotted Cat, a well-known piano bar, she played regularly and honed her style. Discovered in 2013, she began a career in France where she settled in 2017. Her first album, Blood Siren, recorded with Renaud Letang and Chilly Gonzales, received a good reception. With High Priestess, released in 2021, she delivers a rich work, inspired by her experiences and travels.
Sarah McCoy is appreciated for her sincere and personal performances. Alone at the piano or accompanied, she immerses the audience in her universe, blending raw sounds with crafted melodies. This concert in Nice is an opportunity to discover or rediscover an artist who draws from her personal history to offer direct and touching music.
Tickets are available online and at the door. The concert will begin at 8:30 PM. The Les Franciscains hall, located in the heart of Nice, offers a suitable setting for this musical evening.
