School Safety: New Measures Implemented

Latest News

In addition to the measures already in place, such as the securing of schools by Municipal Police patrols, video surveillance cameras, and voluntary agents, new measures have been implemented since Monday to further enhance security around schools.

And there are numerous measures:

– Equipping schools with an alert system directly connected to the CSU (similar to the system used by merchants), to enable quick contact with the Municipal Police and the National Police (in progress).

– Additional security work in schools (installing extra video intercoms, electric door strikes, fencing work) for €412,000.

– Creation of personalized badges to control access for individuals entering the school premises.

Furthermore, the Ministry of National Education prohibits parents from entering schools to drop off or pick up their children.

Moreover, since this Monday, at the request of the municipality, which sought to enhance security around schools, nearly 100 territorial agents and volunteers are present near school groups.

Their mission is to report information regarding any individual who appears suspicious or any vehicle parked in front of a school.

These agents have a dedicated number that allows them to call the operational command center directly so that the municipal police teams can respond swiftly.

Thus, following the Paris attacks, the aim is to create a “citizen reserve” that complements the 180 public road surveillance agents and the 228 safety grandmas and grandpas who help with traffic near schools.
