University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis – Valrose Campus

This event allows for a different, playful, surprising, and fascinating approach to science, yet always scientific in its approach.
A highly anticipated event by the general public and schools, it’s a key moment for University Nice Sophia Antipolis.
By presenting the sciences with passion, in a playful way through their applications and interactions with students and scientists, the University aims to spark the interest of young people and, perhaps, inspire new vocations!

The Alhazen Science Culture Institute is the coordinator of the operation for the University on this 6th edition at the Science site, in the beautiful Valrose park, open to the public for the occasion. The event promises four exciting days filled with various animations, conferences, and experiments to experience science in all its diversity.

Highlights:
On Thursday, October 21, and Friday, October 22, school visits are offered to establishments in the Alpes-Maritimes and Var that have requested it, with nearly 4,000 students, teachers, and chaperones registered.
On Saturday, October 23, and Sunday, October 24, in the afternoon, the Valrose Science Village is open to the general public.

The novelties: all stands will present different workshops from previous years. Additionally, we will host the 1st prize winner of the 2010 Lรฉpine competition, an innovator rather than an inventor, who teaches at University Nice Sophia Antipolis. Several stands will be run by students as part of their research or professional master’s degree, ready to interact with the public through games, animations, and new kinds of presentations. Physical activities, as science requires, and sports will be present for the first time at the Village, with a unique health circuit to โ€œcelebrate fitness.โ€ Participants will leave with a personalized effort-based graph.
Participants will be supervised by elite athletes, world, European, and French champions.

The Laser, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010, will be spotlighted.
Additionally, 240 teaching-researchers, students, engineers, and facilitators will take turns from Thursday to Sunday to animate nearly 150 โ€œscienceโ€ workshops, conferences, cinema sciences, and debates at the largest Science Village in France.
