It goes without saying that in August 2009, La Note Bleue will live up to its name.
Indeed, the second week of August will honor, first and foremost, the jazzy duo Seb Machado and Jean Michel Aublette. They will unveil their latest compositions on the 12th and 13th of August, starting at 6:30 PM, as a preview. The duo will be joined by Rémy Bailet (keyboards), Olivier Boutry (saxophone), Eric Giausserand (trumpet), and Toni Sgro (bass). From new jazz to funk via pop and gospel, the new project of the pair is based on music inspired by a multitude of different sounds. Seb Machado and Jean Michel Aublette previously delighted the audience of La Note Bleue in 2007 with their “tribute to Ray Charles.”
On the 14th and 15th of August, a change! It will be Loïc Pontieux’s turn to perform for the first time on the stage of La Note Bleue. The drummer from Nice will showcase his jazz world universe. A universe whose compositions are mainly inspired by travels. Because Loïc Pontieux is a true globetrotter. The landscapes and cultures discovered during his journeys are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the drummer.
The local lad will present his new creations accompanied on stage by Vincent Bidal (Piano), Laurent Vernerey (Bass), Yannick Soccal (Sax), and Eric Giausserand (Trumpet).
Music is, of course, at the heart of the La Note Bleue concept. So much so that the beach-restaurant has given rise to an independent music label, mainly jazz—La Note Bleue Productions. It is thanks to this label that many local and non-local artists perform in the summer on the restaurant’s stage.
So, make a date for the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th of August to enjoy music to the rhythm of the “blue note.”
