As the deadline approaches and the game seems to be decided, Michel Brutti plays his wildcard to overturn the prediction. Trailing by 17 points behind the Brenier-Estrosi tandem, the far-right candidate throws down his gauntlet by requesting a public debate with his opponent.
Unfortunately for him, his desire will remain unfulfilled. Christian Estrosi’s young protรฉgรฉ already knows the ropes: why take unnecessary risks when everything is going well?
Statement from Michel Brutti
During the first round of the partial legislative election for the 5th constituency, a debate on France 3 opposed the representatives of the PS, the Front de Gauche, the Estrosi system, and myself.
In the context of the duel between Marine Brenier and myself in the second round, it seems appropriate and legitimate that a second debate be organized. This debate would allow us to more clearly confront the projects we are carrying and defending in this election.
To date, no media has come forward to organize this debate, and all indications are that Marine Brenier does not wish to do so, preferring evidently to continue campaigning arm-in-arm with Christian Estrosi rather than facing contradiction.
I therefore publicly request that Marine Brenier accept the principle of a face-to-face debate and respond favorably to any request in this regard, regardless of the organizing media.
