Following the events in Paris last Friday and in Saint-Denis this Wednesday, many rumors are circulating in the department about potential threats concerning shopping centers or gatherings of people.
This information is completely unfounded, and the Prefecture formally denies it.
Moreover, the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes urges everyone to remain calm and not to spread such messages circulating via SMS or on social networks.
Since the implementation of the state of emergency on the metropolitan territory, measures have been taken by the Minister of the Interior (house arrests) and by the Prefect (other administrative measures) in the Alpes-Maritimes department:
Individual measures
3 house arrests (2 in Nice, 1 in Cannet);
7 house searches: 4 in Nice, 2 in Valbonne, and 1 in La Trinité;
An order limiting the ability to move freely (Nice)
Collective measures:
A search and closure of a clandestine place of worship in Beausoleil;
A search and closure of a fast-food establishment in Nice.
The rest is just rumor and pure fantasy.
