Semiacs: intelligent parking (?) is abandoned

Latest News

Patrick Allemenad comes back with force 24 hours after his first statement: “The news dropped yesterday: smart parking is abandoned. SEMIACS discreetly wrote to subscribers to inform them of the end of the smart parking meters.” Obviously, the socialist opponent had the right information…

Only one mistake can be deciphered in his indictment of the Mayor of Nice: why talk about smart parking? In fact, if this system were “smart,” it would have worked…

One comment: But, at Semiacs, are there no engineers who test the systems before putting them into service?

Strange, really strange!

Statement from Patrick Allemand

I have the answer to one of the questions I asked the Mayor in a letter dated just 3 days ago. My concerns were unfortunately well-founded.
The remaining question is how much this system cost. According to the CRC, between 10 and 15 million. I am awaiting a formal response from the Mayor in the name of transparency.

I am also waiting for explanations on the nature of the expenses: 10 to 15 million is, in any case, exorbitant for a system that remained in the experimental stage. Given the Regional Chamber’s analysis of the opaque, erratic, and illegal functioning of Semiacs, we are now entitled to seek full transparency on the smart parking. The credibility and integrity of the City’s representatives are at stake.

Every resident of Nice should understand that this is a real scandal. 10 to 15 million would have been more than enough to build the public facilities for the Ray project (dojo, fencing hall, etc…) without relying on real estate developers. The residents of Nice Nord will pay the price for the Mayor of Nice’s disastrous management.

Patrick Allemand, Municipal Councilor of Nice and Metropolitan Councilor of Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur
