There are more than 7,000 members in the Senior in Action program in the Alpes-Maritimes. The General Council of the department presented the program for the year 2015 this Monday.
Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, announced this year: “More dances, cinema sessions, hikes, trips, and discovery outings.”
In front of an audience of about a hundred people, the deputy highlighted the importance of the well-being of seniors, which motivates the program’s approach. Since 2012, seniors in the city of Nice and the department can enjoy events tailor-made for them, such as dance classes, hiking, and trips…
Age is not a barrier to entertainment. And this year, there are some new additions to the program. Due to the success of โCinรฉ Senior,โ new cinema sessions will be held every week. On the last Wednesday of each month, grandchildren will now be welcome in specially adapted sessions at the Mercury cinema.
Highly Anticipated Events
While dance classes and hikes are very popular among seniors, contests are even more anticipated. โDance with the Seniors,โ whose first edition was a real success, returns with a second edition. From February, residents of Alpes-Maritimes over the age of 55 will be able to register.
Itโs also an opportunity for card enthusiasts to participate in the famous departmental belote competition. Lastly, for travel enthusiasts, there will be 6 discovery destinations and 8 excursion days.
Eric Ciotti clearly stated in his speech, with a wink to those present: โthe time for seniors is no longer a time of retreat but of personal fulfillment.โ
