An informal structure for coordination and exchanges, the Departmental Water and Biodiversity Committee (CODEB) was established under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Adolphe Colrat, Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, and Ms. Anne Sattonnet, representing the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes (CG06).
CODEB is intended to address all matters related to water policy and biodiversity protection in technical and regulatory terms, as well as governance:
Two current topics were discussed during this session: the new responsibility for managing aquatic environments and flood prevention (GEMAPI), entrusted to the municipalities and our seven intermunicipalities by the law of January 27, 2014, and the consideration of biodiversity in development projects.
The watershed logic, which transcends administrative boundaries, will now be systematically prioritized.
The participants agreed that a new governance would be established as soon as possible to implement the new management structures for the GEMAPI responsibility.
