Following the severe weather affecting the department in recent days, Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, visited the town halls of Villeneuve-Loubet and Auribeau-sur-Siagne on Sunday morning to assess the situation in the Alpes-Maritimes and the commitment of the General Council agents (Force 06) and the firefighters in supporting the population. The authorities declare the situation “under control” although still “under surveillance” despite the challenges caused by this weekend’s heavy rains. The numerous floods have caused significant damage, and 300 people are still displaced from their homes. Of course, it will take some time for the situation to return to normalcy.
The weather forecasts for the evening and the following days suggest a continuation of the calm.
