The Laughter Bags are part of the initiatives that Sian d’Aqui hopes will be foundational, allowing all generations to rediscover the strong cultural heritage that has always characterized the County of Nice.
The Laughter Bags aim to achieve three main ambitions:
- Allow the people of Nice to see or revisit on stage famous local artists or those on the rise;
- Offer a chance for new local comedic talents to become known to a wider audience (successful in 2004 with the success of Vincent TRUPIANO, in 2005 with Philippe MARCHAND and in 2006 with Anne BERNEX who, this year, is headlining)
-
Encourage and stimulate the creation of original works labeled “County of Nice”.
A successful bet: The “Laughter Bags” aimed to establish themselves over time and offer an annual comedy event for our County: mission accomplished!
For the past two years, Sian d’Aqui has chosen to reserve an evening for a “guest region” to introduce the audience in Nice to talents from elsewhere. In 2005, Provence was the first guest, in 2006 it was Corsica, and this year Alsace is in the spotlight.
The artists present:
Richard Cairaschi: It’s already tomorrow
A day is long. It gives our friend Richard time to foresee the future. There’s a lot to handle: critiquing everything that moves, sharpening his claws, raising his voice to shake up a world that is running wild, crushing everything: authenticity, the simple pleasure of living peacefully, enjoying everything to laugh or dream. A new little masterpiece of humor and madness!
Anne Bernex: If I Dared
It’s a “Humo’sical” show (humorous and musical) that unwittingly transports us into the quirky and melodic world of the artist. Anne Bernex, actress, singer, tackles without reservation and with a “gentle madness” hot topics such as infidelity, femininity, solitude, eternity… taking the opportunity to détour, for our greatest pleasure, the lyrics of well-known songs, all with writing that is both refined and surprising, always keeping our daily life in the background.
Xavier Borriglione: What an uproar I start
Now, a very long time ago, at the gates of the current Parc du Mercantour, Toinou Doù Gourc was born amongst the moss, at the foot of a chestnut tree. From this extraordinary birth, Toinou maintains an exceptionally close relationship with nature, particularly an incredible knack for spotting mushrooms. From his Gaudissart farm, sitting at the edge of the world, with his partner Fina, Toinou casts a serene, smiling, and humanistic eye on the passing life. So, when life’s chance encounters lead him to meet Kamel, a young delinquent from the city, it is without fear or prejudice that he opens his heart to him. It is around this improbable encounter, and the completely offbeat relationship that ensues, that this show will unfold, alternately hilarious, delirious, or moving.
Huguette Dreikaus: Radiographies
Her latest show, successfully touring, is called Radiography. “It’s a look at myself and others. Everyone takes from it what they will,” says Huguette Dreikaus. “Radiographies” recounts the inner adventures of a woman in a medical waiting room: the boredom of the wait leads her to reflect on her life, her memories, her doubts, and her hopes. Only Huguette Dreikaus’s boisterous wit transforms what might have been a philosophical reflection into a comedic delirium overflowing with images as vivid as they are true. She addresses topics such as work, morality, health, religion, origins, household chores, vacations… with caustic logic full of convincing examples.
