Thanks to the generosity of the public, €6,450,000 in donation pledges have been collected during Sidaction 2009. This is €500,000 more in donation pledges than in 2008 during the same period, and this upward trend gives Sidaction good hope to see the donation promises materialize.
These good results will allow Sidaction to maintain and enhance its support for prevention programs and assistance to patients, as well as research work, particularly involving young researchers.
50% of the net funds collected will be used to support prevention programs and assistance to patients, and 50% for research work.
Sidaction has committed to its donors to use this amount within the current year to enable the supported associations and researchers to focus their efforts on fighting AIDS and not on seeking funding.
