Latest News

For the start of this new 2024-2025 season, the Nice Volley Ball club is making changes within its roster.

For the 2024-2025 season, the club is making some small changes, particularly with the arrival of the new coach Brice Donat. A former professional setter until 2013, he later joined Poitevin Volley-Ball where he became a professional coach. For this 2024-2025 season, he joins Nice Volley Ball. “I come with plenty of ambition, full of energy, I want to help the Nice club to evolve. As a player, I had a leader’s character that I still have.” indicated Brice Donat, the new coach of NVB. The club has new projects for the upcoming seasons with great ambition and a lot of passion.

For the next two seasons, NVB relies on a young and dynamic team, notably with the NVB hopefuls. Coach Brice Donat talks about these ambitions with the club: “Every year I like to take risks, I try to do a lot with little. So I’m going to try to keep this personal touch. And take risks like launching young talents, giving them the opportunity to show themselves and lead the team to the highest level. I want us to play every ball like a match point but also during training, when the players come in, I want it to be 100% requirement, motivation, and commitment.”

The new economic development of the club

This year, Nice Volley Ball wishes to develop and innovate the club’s business ambitions. Notably by seeking collaborations with local partners to expand the club, aiming to extend over time. “We need to offer our partners a real deal. We are committed to organizing nine major partner evenings to create real synergy.” explains the club president Alain Griguer.

With many new ideas coming in, the club’s budget objective is an increase of 20 to 25%, or an additional 250,000 euros. Indeed, Nice Volley Ball is one of the smallest budgets in the championship with one million one hundred fifty thousand. To achieve this, Nice Volley Ball emphasizes numerous events to develop significant partners.

Major changes in the sports roster

“We are going to rely on several players from the training center. We will pair them with experienced players. We are currently working on recruitment. I spend my days and part of my nights watching videos. It’s actually one of my passions, spotting young talents. I like to have individual projects with each player within the collective project.” explains coach Brice Donat, already taking his role very seriously.

President Alain Griguer points out that the selection might be complex: Discussions with the players are complicated today, regarding the contracts. But it will come together and we will succeed in building a very good team. We are in discussion with quite a few players. Rodney Ha-Kong remains, Lilian Le Meur remains, Matteo Schalk remains, and all the young players from the training center remain under contract.” Of the seven players from last year’s training center, six players are staying.
