Waste management represents an economic and environmental issue of utmost importance.

Thus, Nice Côte d’Azur, responsible for the collection and treatment of household and similar waste across 27 municipalities in the department, implements the necessary human, material, and financial resources throughout the year to collect, sort, treat, and recycle the production of 349,000 tonnes of waste (for the year 2010) while protecting its environment.

For Bernard Kleynhoff, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “Businesses need support in implementing a genuine waste management policy because, despite ambitious environmental goals, waste disposal and transformation have become more costly and complex.”

To reduce production and improve the sorting of business waste, the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce notably supports the hospitality and restaurant sectors through 500 “waste pre-diagnostics” conducted across the metropolitan territory.

– A partnership for improved waste management

Nice Côte d’Azur and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice Côte d’Azur are joining forces with a common goal to maintain and improve waste prevention and recycling policies.

– The partnership agreement signed on Thursday aims to:

Promote the reduction of waste production, improve waste sorting and recycling for businesses, particularly those in the hospitality and restaurant sectors in the center of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur coastal area between Cagnes-sur-Mer and Cap d’Ail.

The main waste types concerned are:

§ Glass,

§ Cardboard,

§ Biodegradable waste,
