On the occasion of Miriam Fierberg-Ikar’s visit to France, the Mayor of Netanya, Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur, and President of the Euro-Med Cities Network, along with Albert Marouani, President of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, will sign the agreement between the City of Nice and the University as part of the sponsorship of the โ€œNetanya Academic Collegeโ€.

This agreement concerns the sponsorship of 25 French-speaking students from the Netanya Academic College and is realized through a grant of 40,000 euros to support exchanges and the development of educational projects for promoting the French language at the higher education level.

This signing is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at strengthening the status of Netanya Academic College as a key French-speaking center in Israel. The objective is to make Nice a preferred destination for the French-speaking community in Israel, particularly through our relationship with Netanya, with whom we share the same Mediterranean culture.

The Netanya Academic College was established in 1995 to meet Israel’s growing needs for higher education. It currently enrolls 3,500 students and is recognized as one of Israel’s most prestigious academic institutions. With its modern, progressive, and pluralistic approach, the quality and outstanding level of its programs attract many students from diverse backgrounds.

The twinning of Netanya with Nice was signed on January 22, 1968. Netanya and Nice are two cities that share many common features: seaside, tourist, and francophone cities. Sustainable development is also a significant common concern related to promoting sustainable and ecological tourism. Today, there are numerous possible areas of cooperation: urban development, sports, the medical sector, and higher education.
