The โAs du Coeurโ study is a project aimed at measuring the impact of adapted physical activities on individuals with cardiovascular diseases, its medical-economic impact, and its feasibility.
The signing of this agreement brought together the Independent Social Security Scheme of the Cรดte dโAzur (RSI), Diagana Sport Santรฉ (the company founded by Stรฉphane Diagana and his wife Odile), the LAMHESS (Laboratory of Human Motor Skills, Education, Sport Health), the CHU of Nice, and the Private Geriatric Hospital Les Sources.
Stรฉphane Diagana made sure to thank all the participants of the program, the RSI Cรดte dโAzur for โits valuable supportโ, as well as the municipalities of Mougins, Saint Laurent du Var, and the City of Nice. This project aims to โfocus on the most isolated individuals, those who need sports the most,โ because sports are the most effective solution in primary prevention or non-drug therapy. For the former athlete, there are several objectives, notably: understanding strategies, analyzing the medical-economic aspect (to try to reduce part of the Social Security debt, and see the impact on healthcare spending).
The program, which will be tested on 90 individuals, will take place in the form of three adapted sessions per week, for six months. There will also be evaluations of physical condition, health, well-being, and motivation. Participants in the study will also benefit from a liaison book with their coach for personalized follow-up, a feature highly appreciated by the patients. The initial results are very encouraging and have allowed patients to reduce the number of medications.
