The UPE 06 Sports Commission is initiating the signing of the first regional partnership agreement between the sports world and the business world!
On Thursday, February 24, welcomed at the EDHEC Business School in Nice by Bernard Curzi, director of the ESPEME Group EDHEC, Yvon Grosso, President of UPE 06, Gรฉrard Cerutti, President of the Union for Business in Var (UPV), and Alain Koubi, President of the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of the Cรดte d’Azur, signed an exemplary partnership agreement between the world of sports and businesses, in the exceptional presence of Denis Masseglia, President of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), Philippe Joffard, President of the National Sports Committee of MEDEF, and Pierre FONLUPT, President of the New Dialogues Commission of MEDEF.
This first concrete official event is part of the continuation of the national protocol agreement signed on May 28, 2010, by the CNOSF and MEDEF. UPE 06 and UP Var are the first two departmental employers’ organizations in France to relay this national initiative.
An Exemplary Partnership Agreement
Through this document, the CROS Cรดte d’Azur, UPE 06, and UPV recognize the societal role of sports on one hand, and its contribution to economic growth and the influence of our territory on the other hand.
They, therefore, wish to promote the development of physical and sports activities in businesses to improve well-being in the workplace and health prevention for employees.
To this end, the signatories first aim to establish a permanent dialogue to discuss sports policies involving businesses, as initiated at the national level between the CNOSF and MEDEF.
These discussions should allow the formulation of common proposals for other French sports stakeholders, notably the State and local authorities.
The three signing institutions also desire to strengthen the relationships between the sports world and economic actors, particularly through information and awareness actions aimed at both businesses and the sports federations and clubs of the Alpes-Maritimes and Var.
Similarly, this collaboration aims to enable regional businesses to showcase their expertise at events taking place in France or abroad.
Finally, to promote the development of physical and sports activities, the parties have agreed to promote: public/private partnerships in the renovation or construction of sports facilities, sports sponsorship, sports practice in companies by strengthening ties with sports associations, and the training and employment of high-level athletes.
The EDHEC Business School and its High-Level Athletes Program
The signing of this agreement takes place on the Nice campus of the EDHEC Group to attest to all its action in the sports field, with its new facilities on the Roubaix Campus, its student associations (EDHEC Sailing Course, the Raid, Jumping, Team Golfโฆ) and the recent launch of an innovative training program: the “High-Level Athletes Program,” which allows athletes to follow the ESPEME bachelor’s program.
This tailor-made training is intended for High-Level Athletes whose sports calendar often conflicts with a traditional academic schedule, thanks to the implementation of an e-learning methodology. Thus, athletes can combine a sports career with their studies.
The UPE 06 Sports Commission unites entrepreneurs, high-level athletes, and representatives from the sports movement. Sponsored by Anny Courtade, a member of the national Sports Committee of Medef, and Vice-President of UPE 06, this commission is chaired by Christophe Lefรจvre, with Martine Martinon as Vice-President.
“Our ambition is to foster the emergence of a new partnership between the business world and the sports world in our regional territory by creating a space of dialogue and innovation. This commission aims to be the showcase and laboratory for the national partnership between MEDEF and CNOSF. Sports are a lever for sustainable growth for our economy. The Alpes-Maritimes can be the pilot department for developing this vast reservoir of economic growth that sports represent. The signing of this convention marks the starting signal for the implementation of the UPE 06 Sports Commission’s program,” specifies Yvon Grosso, President of UPE 06.
