The Lions Club Nice Régina Bella, in collaboration with the Ice Sports Committee of Alpes Maritimes and the Nice Baie des Anges Figure Skating Club, is organizing a wonderful figure skating gala on Saturday, June 2, at 7 PM at the Jean Bouin ice rink in Nice in support of the “Children and Health” association, whose main goal is to finance research in pediatric oncology to help children with cancer and leukemia “heal more and heal better with the least possible side effects.”
A message from the President, Mrs. Françoise Licker: “Please come in large numbers. You will witness a unique show and contribute to a good cause for these children so unfairly affected, because WE ALL HAVE A CHILD IN OUR HEART.”
Recognized as being of Public Utility, Children and Health also supports the pediatric hematology-oncology service of the ARCHET2 University Hospital in Nice by occasionally providing medical equipment.
Since February 2011, it has also contributed to the creation of a large national pediatric tumor bank by fully funding it.
The proceeds from this evening will be entirely donated to “Children and Health” to finance the purchase of a central unit that will allow nurses to closely and simultaneously monitor all the vital signs of the young patients, especially those hospitalized in sterile rooms (cost: approximately €20,000).
On the program: the live opening show of the world figure skating championships held in Nice last March-April and the performance of a troupe of Russian ice ballet dancers who will be traveling especially for this occasion.
