Skydiving: Medals for Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes in Teuge

Latest News

French parachutists excelled during the World Cup and the European Championships in Formation Skydiving and Artistic Disciplines held in Teuge, the Netherlands. Among them, license holders from Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes made it to the podium.

France left Teuge with twelve new medals. The event took place from August 28 to September 2, 2025. The French teams won titles in Formation Skydiving and Artistic Disciplines. In this record, two names stand out along the Cรดte dโ€™Azur and in the Principality: Tom Mattoni, residing in Monaco and licensed at Monaco Parachute Team, and Adrien Gallot, licensed at the Nice Parachuting Circle.

Tom Mattoni was part of Team Aethers, competing in the Formation Skydiving 4-way in the Open category. Along with his teammates Cameron Maliรฉ, Damien Gouriou, Mathieu Quizy, and Alban Rumolo, he clinched the gold medal. The team triumphed both at the European Championships and the World Cup. This double success marks a turning point, as highlighted by their national coach, Mathieu Bernier: โ€œRegarding the OPEN team, consisting of Damien Gouriou, Mathieu Quizy, Alban Rumolo, Tom Mattoni, and Cameron Maliรฉ, this victory is all the more remarkable as it ends a 14-year wait for World Cup gold. Itโ€™s a major milestone on our road to the 2026 World Championships.โ€

For Adrien Gallot, the competition took place in the Artistic Disciplines. With his partner Laurie Lubbe, he formed Team Eaglets in Freestyle. Together, they won the silver medal at the European Championships and the World Cup. Their performance was narrowly edged out by Team Medjay, with a final gap of only 0.7 points.

Their national coach, Sรฉbastien Chambet, praised the overall French performances: โ€œThe performances were incredible, with nail-biting suspense until the last jump. Seeing four French teams at the forefront of the world stage is a tremendous source of pride.โ€

The French momentum in Formation Skydiving and Artistic

The presence of Tom Mattoni and Adrien Gallot illustrates the significant role played by regional clubs in French success. Monaco Parachute Team and Nice Parachuting Circle train athletes capable of excelling at the highest level.

In Formation Skydiving, France had entered two teams in the Open and Womenโ€™s categories. Both won gold at the European Championships and the World Cup. The womenโ€™s team, composed of Pamรฉla Lissajoux, Alexandra Petitjean, Marie Pineau, Gaรซlle Giesen, and Godeleine de Saint Just, achieved a series of successful jumps. โ€œThe Womenโ€™s team [โ€ฆ] achieved almost perfect performances from beginning to end, with a series of error-free jumps,โ€ insisted Mathieu Bernier.

Artistic discipline also confirmed the solidity of French skydiving. In Freefly, Teams Smashed Patatas and Symbios took the top two spots on the podium, separated by less than a point. In Freestyle, the Medjay-Eaglets duel offered a tightly contested spectacle.

The season confirms a trend. In April, the Open Formation Skydiving team won the indoor world title in the United States. The womenโ€™s team became vice-world champions. Recent performances extend this dynamic and strengthen ambitions for the 2026 World Championships.

Increased visibility for regional clubs

Beyond the results, the Teuge competition highlights the contribution of local clubs. Monaco and Nice emerge as two anchors for high-level skydiving. The podium finishes of Tom Mattoni and Adrien Gallot remind us that the Cรดte dโ€™Azur and the Principality play an active role in French success.

These results also provide a perspective for young practitioners. The rookie team Les Hermines, engaged in Formation Skydiving, marked a promising first international appearance. The baton is passed in a discipline where precision and team cohesion are essential.

For Tom Mattoni and Adrien Gallot, the season now continues with preparations for the upcoming international events. Their journeys illustrate the vitality of sport skydiving in the region. Between Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes, the European sky took on local colors in summer 2025.
