This afternoon at 5:30 PM at the Opera, there will be a premiere screening of the France 3 documentary “Nice: 86 Pebbles for Eternity”.
On this occasion and before the screening, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, will present the Cityโs medal to the 16 hikers who completed the ascent of Stok Kangri this summer.
One year after the Nice attack, the Nice association “Exploits Without Borders”, in partnership with the Association Promenade des Anges, deposited 86 pebbles on July 14th at the summit of Stok Kangri (6,153 meters) in the Himalayas. This ascent, carried out by 16 hikers, took place between June 28, 2017, and July 27, 2017.
These 86 pebbles, painted in blue-white-red by students with disabilities from a Ulis class at the Saint-Exupรฉry school in l’Escarรจne, bore the name of each victim of the Nice attack.
The France 3 PACA documentary tells the story of these novice mountaineers, ready to surpass themselves to overcome the unforgettable and turn pain into strength.
This film will be broadcast on Monday, October 16th after Soir 3 on France 3 Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur.
