The Toulouse forward Xavier Pentecôte, 25 years old, is set to sign a four-year contract with Nice on Monday, provided he passes the medical exam this Sunday without any problems. “He’s a player we’ve been following for years,” noted Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivière this Saturday before the Nice-Toulouse match. He had one year left on his contract with Toulouse, and the transfer fee amounts to 1.2 million euros.
Additionally, Nice is still actively looking for two or three forwards depending on the likely departure of Mickaël Poté and the possible departure of Eric Mouloungui, who is being monitored by West Ham (English Division 2).
The Côte d’Azur club has also offered 2 million euros to Clermont (Division 2) to attract the attacking midfielder Romain Alessandrini, but the Auvergne club refuses to release him.
