Social Responsibility: Jean-Henri Fabre College winner of the 2015 BPCA Prize

Latest News

Every year, the BPCA organizes the Regional Initiatives Prize aimed at highlighting the local initiatives of its members, aligning with the cooperative model (humanitarian efforts, solidarity, disability, job creation, social reintegration…), in departments 06 and 83, or in Monaco.

The prize rewards an action related to the enhancement of regional and local heritage (knowledge transmission…), environmental protection, humanitarian efforts, solidarity, the hiring of disabled persons, job creation, and social reintegration.

The 2015 Regional Initiatives Prize was awarded this year around the theme “Sports as a vector of living together,” with testimony from Ludovic Beaugrand, father and coach of Cassandre Beaugrand, a 17-year-old triathlete supported by the BPCA.

At just 18 years old, Cassandre Beaugrand already boasts an incredible record: Elite French Triathlon Champion, French Junior record holder in the 1500m, Junior World Vice-Champion… The native of Antibes is also a member of the French athletics team.

The 2015 Regional Initiatives Prize was awarded to Serge Gabrielich for the benefit of the Sports Association of Jean-Henri Fabre College, for the project “PITCHAK: An old game brought back to life!”

Serge Gabrielich, a physical education teacher, former pole vault champion, created the “Pitchak for the Little Ones” project six years ago at Jean-Henri Fabre College. Through the traditional game of pitchak, he fights against obesity and student sedentary lifestyles, and for solidarity.
