Solidarity Week: Readings at the Nucéra Library

Latest News

Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 3:00 PM – Albert Camus Auditorium, Louis Nucéra Library, -2, place Yves Klein

On the occasion of Solidarity Week, the city of Nice, its CCAS, and the associations of Nice wanted to give people in difficulty the opportunity to express themselves, to share their testimonies and life stories with us.

Through these “Life Stories,” we aim to share moments of emotion in a warm setting and increase awareness of the daily difficulties faced by a public often rendered vulnerable and affected by life’s events (disability, illness…).

The partner associations (Red Cross, Mediation Cité, and SOS Drugs International) and the relevant CCAS services have actively participated in gathering texts during workshops prepared over several months. Additionally, this year, two students from IESTS have volunteered to help organize this event.

These texts were written either by the individuals themselves or by professionals and volunteers who support them. Four themes were selected:

· Solitude;

· Exile;

· Poverty;

· Solidarity and hope.
